Après le succès de son dernier album « Tribute to Erroll Garner » (Grand Prix du Hot Club de France 2017, « Indispensable » de l’année 2017 Jazz Hot, « 4 étoiles » Jazz Magazine, …), Pierre Christophe, ancien élève de Jaki Byard, prix DJANGO REINHARDT de l’Académie du Jazz en 2007 …, nous présente son 9ème album.

Pierre, l’un des meilleurs pianistes de la scène française actuelle, a enregistré ce CD en direct du Club Smalls de New-York, en compagnie de deux incontournables musiciens du circuit américain : Joel Frahm et Joe Martin.

Sur ses compositions (Valparaiso, African Beauty) ainsi que sur d’autres de Jaki Byard (Just Rollin’ Along, D.D.L.J., Aluminum Baby), Duke Ellington (Flirtibird), ou encore Dave Brubeck (Softly, William, Softly), toutes remarquablement enregistrées, Pierre Christophe nous livre un album qui révèle sa grande sensibilité, son absolue maîtrise de l’harmonie et son éclatant sens du swing. Il nous démontre, s’il en était encore besoin, l’étendue de son talent.
